When Walmart paid $16 billion to buy a 77% stake in Flipkart in 2016, the company was worth $20 billion. Sachin and Binny Bansal, two friends, created Flipkart. In 2007, Flipkart opened in Bangalore, India. It’s interesting to note that they have the same last name, despite not being related. They have more than 400 million people who have signed up, and they sell 150 million things in over 80 different categories.
